Currently in my third term as Mayor. I ran to drive meaningful change and enhance our infrastructure, putting Atkinson on the map. I'm committed to completing projects already underway. As mayor, I take great pleasure in interacting with our community members. Born and raised here, I've built my life in Atkinson - married to my wonderful wife Chris, raised three beautiful children, and own a local business. I'm passionate about serving our community and being a voice for its people
Bobby joined the board on May 20, 1987, at the request of then-Mayor Nick Simon. Bobby was acting Mayor from December 4, 2006, until May 8, 2007, after the passing of then Mayor Keith Noark. Bobby has served on several committees over the years. Currently is Chairman of the TIF and also the building Inspector.
I was appointed to an empty seat, accepted because I wanted to be in the know. I wanted to be part of the downtown project's launch and help bring in business.
I was elected to the Village Board in 2023. My reasons for being on the board- I wanted to use my background in Business in serving the village whenever asked to help or I see a need. Other factors included providing my real estate development experience in rebuilding the downtown area. We moved to Atkinson from Geneseo when we built a new home in Westview Estates in 2018. I grew up in Walnut, IL, and then graduated from Bradley University with a degree in finance/real estate development. I am also currently a board member at Abilities Plus in Kewanee.
My name is Dawn (Christian) Stage. I was raised in Atkinson and lived there until 1997, before moving back in 2016. I have two sons and one granddaughter. I ran for Village Trustee because I want to make a difference, become a part of the solution, and bring Atkinson back to the town I grew up in. I was proudly sworn in on May1st, 2025. I am also the Chairman of Atkinson Community Festivals, aka Atkinson Heritage Days & Atkinson Christmas Festival.
As a lifelong Atkinson resident, I take great pride in our small-town community. I am honored to serve on the Village Board and look forward to working alongside, the Mayor, fellow board members and Village employees to implement positive changes that benefit our residents and businesses.
My Goals Include:
Improving our local infrastructure
Promoting growth for small businesses in our downtown area
Preserving the integrity and charm of our historic downtown buildings
Engaging with corporations interested in developing along the I-80 corridor
Bringing back a sense of community pride through festivals, events, and other initiatives
I have had the privilege of serving our community for over 20 years. While the role comes with its challenges, I am excited to be part of the positive changes on the horizon for Atkinson. Thank you for trusting me to represent you on the Village Board.
I am fairly new to the board since I was just elected this year (2025), but I look forward to helping improve our Village. I joined to help be a voice for the residents. I enjoy talking to and listening to the resident' concerns and questions.
